Project for SPRING 2011 - It's all about silk

The Spring 2011 project for Manito consists on installing twenty-four gold painted wicker balls, from which rows of paper flowers, or flowers made from white fabric.

The strips from which the flowers hang are turquoise and violet, and they go around the wicker ball with one extreme left hanging.

The tree will have violet and turquoise leaves, aside from gold-and-white flowers made of paper or fabric.

The rows of flowers will also be installed on the swing as well as on the hanging rolls.

All silk products will be given a greater protagonism in comparison to the previous winter collection.

Window Display for Manito

The idea, according to the assignment, is to show Manito's most important products in the best way possible. In this case, the products to be displayed are silk products; robes, sheets, duvet covers, pillows and throws.

Regarding the duvets and duvet covers, the idea is to show the different colors that are in stock, displaying the material's quality and gloss. To do so, they were conceived to be hung on the left side of the window display in a vertical position, tied with ribbons or strings, thus emphasizing the duvets' spongy quality.

In the case of the sheets, throws and pillows, the idea is to use several supports. One of them are the white tables available at the store, on which a tree-shaped wooden structure will be mounted. This structure will rest on the larger table and will hold one of the pillows. The large table will also hold piled sheets and the smaller one will be used to display two or three pillows on top of each other, showing the range of colors available, aside from the pillow's cushioned softness.

Throws could be exhibited inside a box or basket, rolling several of them together and, at the same time, joining them with a string or ribbon, which will connect them visually to the hanging duvets.

The largest tree seen on the drawing will be used to display the baby blankets, since it will have enough shelves to hold several of them rolled (each one tied with a ribbon). The shelves can be placed on both sides of the tree, in order to use the structure to display products towards the interior of the store as well.

Lastly, we will use a mannequin made of wood and fabric to show one of the robes.

Note: An absent element in the drawing is a swing, which can be used to display more products and could also be useful to visually balance the hanging duvets on the other side. The swing will be constructed using rope and a white wooden base. Along with the tree, it could generate the idea of a garden, which goes well with the concept of comfort associated to pillows, throws and such.

Duvets and rope or ribbon option

Duvets are rolled around a cylinder-shaped piece of wood, on which a hook is screwed. From this hook the whole piece hangs, tied to a rope which is at the same time tied to a hook on the ceiling. Each one of the duvets will be tied with rope or ribbon, to be chosen according to the color of the product.

Tables and wooden trees

The idea for this space is to use the white tables from the store. On them, a smaller tree without a log will serve as support for one of the pillows.
On the smaller table, more products can be displayed, and a couple of baskets or white wooden boxes can be placed on the floor, containing several throws - rolled and tied with ribbon - of different colors.
Decor items available at the store can also be displayed in this space.

The large wooden tree is to be constructed in wood and painted white, with shelves attached on both sides, enabling for it to support products which will be visible from different angles. It would be a nice detail to add leaves made of firm gold or metallic-colored paper.

The following are a few examples of wallpaper designs that could be used at the store. The idea is to use two different kinds of paper on two separate walls, each design generating a different setting for each bed. However, both wallpapers should be compatible in design, due to the fact that the walls are not far apart.
